Modern songs were not ignored as Phil gave us Alan Jackson's, Don't Knock The Juke Box, Mark Chestnutt's, Old Country, and Charlie Landsborough's, No time At All.

Once again dancers and listeners had a most enjoyable evening and all look forward to Phil's next show here.

The ever popular Phil is always welcome at our club and immediatly on stage developes an excellent rapport with his audience. This together with his excellent vocals and wonderful stories, always brings an enthusiastic responce from our members be it applause or laughter.

Thomas ( not Don ) in the U.S.A. next came a couple of classics, Shadows Of My Mind, a charter for both Vernon Oxford and Leon Everette, and my favourite Rodney Crowell composition, 'Til I Gain Control Again, which was a smash for Bobby Bare, but a chart - topper for Crystal Gayle. Other classic Country songs flowed all night such as George Jones', Wine Coloured Roses, Conway Twitty's, I May Never Get To Heaven, Steve Goodman's, You Never Even Called Me By My Name, a hit for both David Allan Coe and Doug Supernaw, Waylon's, Drinkin' and Dreamin' and Buck Owens',  Together Again.

As always, Phil catered for both line and partner dancers, those who love to listen or join-in, and all who like a joke, all of which contributed to a super show.

Phil

We are always pleased to have Phil at our club as we know we shall have, not only an evening of good old country music, but lots of fun and banter between him and the audience, and tonight was no exception.

His songs were particularly chosen for both listeners and dancers; so we had a healthy mix of ballads and up- tempo numbers.

The Line dancers responded especially well to Hal Ketchum's ' Tonight We Just Might Fall In Love', Willie and Waylon's ' Good Hearted Woman', Merle's ' Swingin' Doors' and Alan Jackson's ' Don't Rock the Jukebox', amongst others. Partner dancers filled the floor to Ricky Van Shelton's ' I'll Leave This World Loving You', Jack Greene's ' There Goes My Everything', Travis Tritt's ' Country Club' and Gene Watson's ' Farewell Party'.

Songs not heard very often in our club included Randy Travis'  ( with George Jones) ' A Few Ole Country Boys', Johnny Paycheck's ' Someone To Give My Love To', Hank Williams jnr's, ' Stoned At The Jukebox'  Alan Jackson's ' Tonight I Climbed The Wall' and Travis Tritt's ' Here's A Quarter, Call Someone Who Cares', all of which produced an appreciative response from the audience.

Once again Phil gave us a super show to maintain and confirm his popularity with our members.
